A Red Ripe Strawberry

The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear is one of our favorite children’s books. At one point I was reading it four or five times every night to our 18 month old. Everyone in the family has it memorized. These pictures are close ups of a delicious red, ripe strawberry that the big hungry bear would definitely want to eat!

Wasp Nest up Close

My kids found this awesome wasp nest in a sandbox truck. The bonus was wasp that did not make it out! I love the texture of the wood fibers the wasps used to build their nest.

Tulips Up Close

Viewing plants under the microscope is a great way to learn more about nature. This tulip is part of a bunch that a friend gave me for my birthday. Tulips have always been my favorite flower. I love looking at the petals under the microscope and seeing the beautiful red colors as they blend seamlessly into orange and yellow.
